Joyful Art Workshops
I live in the beautiful East Yorkshire village of Eastrington. Having my own studio I can offer personalized workshops all year round to individuals or small groups, maximum of 4 people. Larger groups can be accommodated in our excellent village hall. I am also willing to travel within Yorkshire to facilitate Christian workshops and creative prayer days at other venues.
During a Joyful Art Workshop you will create a visual form of prayer, which encourages and enables you to express your faith using art. I advertise Joyful Art Workshops which you can join as an individual and meet new friends or you can arrange a ‘bespoke’ workshop where you choose a theme in conjunction with Joy and a group of you (5-20) come to Eastrington village hall for a 2 hour workshop or a full day.

Drawing a Mandala
Format
Joyful Art Workshops can be flexible and themed, but usually follow a similar plan;
- An introduction to the theme, materials and techniques.
- A time of shared prayer, using music, silence and scripture.
- Choose your materials and begin by creating a short tutor led exercise then continue with your own artwork based on the selected theme.
- Regroup and share your experiences. (This is NOT a critique and it is up to each individual whether they choose to share or not).
- Time to look at other’s pictures, chat, have a drink and share the whole experience.
- Session ends with a time of open prayer.
Colourful Prayer
All artists are free to take their pictures home, they are your very own visual prayers. Frame them or simply pin them up at home – every time you look at them they will remind you of your prayer.
Anyone can take part regardless of age or gender and no artistic experience is necessary, all materials are provided and full support is available.
A Joyful Art Workshop can take place in my studio in Eastrington (max 4), or in the village hall in Eastrington (max 20), or in your Church or other suitable venue (max 30), where it is quiet and spacious.
How much will it cost?
For small groups in my studio a small voluntary donation helps to cover expenses and replenish materials enabling me to continue to provide workshops to all.
All materials and light refreshments are provided, please bring your own packed lunch for full day workshops.

Colourful Prayer Morning workshop for 20 people
For those who would like to extend their stay there is an excellent B &B in Eastrington and a super tea room and a pub serving meals most evenings. I have a programme of workshops or you can book a personalised workshop at other times.
